Book 10 in the Hope Harbor series offers strong characters and positive yet realistic relationships. After being laid off, Vienna visits her mother in Hope Harbor. The two are very different and do not get along, but Vienna is shocked at how content and successful her mother is running a bookstore. Matt is taking a few weeks off from his veterinarian practice to help his overwhelmed sister start a bed and breakfast. When she has to care for a friend, he tries to take on the project solo. The town stalwart artist Charley and his fish tacos help bring a homeless contractor and his wife together with Matt to fix up the property. Vienna offers her hotel background knowledge in exchange for a free room at the B&B, only to realize she is also getting into a very special relationship with Matt in the arrangement. While Hope Harbor citizens and visitors experience tragedy and troubles, this series offers comforting plots and messages. Fans of Debbie Macomber may also enjoy this series.
